A film by Jani Ruscica
Commissioned by Animate Projects and Camden Arts Centre
With support from Arts Council England, The Finnish Institute in London and FRAME
Drawing on both contemporary and historical texts, Ruscica's film deconstructs the idea of the travelogue itself as romanticised history, factual document and idealised experience.
Ruscica's main area of interest lies in examining how one defines one’s location, a sense of place in the world, and how and why that definition can change.
Travelogue was researched and shot on location at Camden Arts Centre for Ruscica's Magic Lantern residency.
Black and white 16mm film transferred to HD.
