Amnesia opens with the heroine waking up in a beach house in Malibu to find that her husband is Pierce Brosnan. He hands her a camera phone in the hope that its images will remind her of her past life...

With allusions to made-for-TV movies and classic Hollywood films, especially Rebecca, the voiceover story of Amnesia will unravel - exploiting the innate possibilities that exist in dreams, memory and implausible plots. Meanwhile, we will see a stream of seemingly unconnected photos and movies, taken with a mobile phone, dissolving in and out of a widescreen backdrop of an undulating sea filmed in high definition - with the Cornish coast standing in for the Pacific offering a riposte to the many Hollywood films set in Cornwall but filmed in California.

Cordelia says, 'In my dreams I am often propelled from place to place and greeted with perplexing situations and images. I don’t have celebrity dreams or dreams about films myself, but I know people who do, and their dreams are usually quite silly.'
