Consultancy

If you are looking for advice or
production support on an
artists’ animation or film project
do get in touch

Abigail and Gary have extensive experience in commissioning, producing, exhibiting, and programming artists’ moving image and animation.

If you are a curator or manager  of a cultural institution looking to produce animated content, we can match you up with the right animator for your project, advise, help develop, and manage commissions, and oversee production from idea to delivery.

Our work includes:

  • commissioning and exhibition projects with Museums Northumberland (pictured), National Trust’s Ham House and Garden, Thackray Museum of Medicine, Leeds (with MAAP), and Sir John Soane’s Museum, London
  • animations for music ensemble Klangforum Wien’s Happiness Machine project made with female composers
  • animations for Cast Iron Radio’s Body of Songs project made with independent musicians and leading clinicians

We also mentor individual artists and can offer one to one, online mentoring sessions.

Please get in touch via our contact form to discuss your requirements and we will quote for the work.

Here are some testimonies
from previous clients:

“Paintings in Hospitals has enjoyed a fruitful relationship with Animate. We first brought Animate in to advise on acquiring moving image work for our loan collection, and from there we worked with the team on developing and delivering artist residency projects in Glasgow and in London. Their specialist advice proved to be invaluable.”

Emilie RollandFormer Programmes & Collection Manager, Paintings in Hospitals

“Gary and Abigail's extensive experience gave us confidence in dealing with the complexities of the process. The partnership has given colleagues in education confidence in the use of technology in our workshop programme.”
